Personalised attention to detail
As with all of the expertly vetted yacht agents who are members of AYSS, Erika’s Yacht Agents can swiftly handle all of your customs and immigration formalities upon arrival in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, but it is their VIP concierge service that makes them stand out as one of the best boutique yacht agencies around. For those who may not be as familiar with the 150-square mile archipelago, everything starts with meticulous itinerary planning. “We work in close partnership with charter brokers, captains and crew to plan every detail of the trip allowing them to focus all of their energies on the owner and guest experience. Whether it be organizing the perfect day of swimming with sea turtles in Tobago Cays, to planning a luxurious lobster barbecue on the beach, one of our greatest strengths is our personalised attention to detail,” Heather Grant, owner and Founder of Erika’s Yacht Agents told us.
Making the impossible, possible
While the archipelago of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is remote, Heather’s team can make the impossible, possible, especially when trying to source hard to find supplies and provisioning. “Once, we were asked for goat’s milk for twin babies onboard. We obtained the milk, but the yacht moved so frequently that it seemed as soon as the milk arrived in one spot, the yacht had already moved to another island. Our team didn’t falter. We just kept chasing the yacht around the Grenadines until the yacht and the goat’s milk came together.”
This all happens with ease as Erika’s Yacht Agents is located in all five ports where yachts can clear in and clear out. Her team is located in St. Vincent, known as the Gateway to the Grenadines, as well as Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, and Union Island. With no marina in SVG at the moment (that will very soon change) yachts at anchor typically deliver their documentation ashore via tender or it can be picked up by water taxi for processing. It’s the strategic positioning of her staff that creates a seamless support system for the captain and crew that extends to all aspects of provisioning and planning services as the yacht cruises from one island to the next.
With the absence of any pollution and a deep turquoise blue sea offset by clean white sand beaches, guests are transported into full relax mode. While the Northern Caribbean is chock-a-block with yachts and appealing for those who want to “see and be seen”, SVG has a very different vibe. Here, time slows down and the important decisions of the day include the timing of your next swim or preparations for a hike to a secluded waterfall. Great for families, a romantic getaway or for those who just need to disconnect from the world. Erika’s Yacht Agents will make sure that your cruise is stress-free.
A brand new marina
The island nation is looking forward to the new Glossy Bay Marina in Canouan, the first marina in the region, which is just now in the final stages of completion. Set to open as soon as dredging of the entry to the marina is completed, it will be able to accommodate yachts up to 110 meters. In the past few months, crew have gotten an insider’s view of the new facilities as it can already accommodate tenders for fuel, and crew have discovered the excellent marina restaurant, ‘Shenanigans’, which is open for business. Erika’s Yacht Agents has plans to be involved with this new project, so Heather can provide captains up-to-date information if an SVG trip is planned.
